Data Sharing and Disclosure
Some of Doer’s services and features require that we share data with other users, or at users’ request or with their consent. We may also share such data with our affiliates, subsidiaries, and partners, for legal reasons or in connection with claims or disputes. Doer may share data:
1. With Other Users
This includes sharing:
- Customers’ first name, rating, and service locations with service providers.
- Service recipients’ first name and service details, including service requested, special instructions, and preferences, with other recipients in a group service order.
- Service recipients’ first name, service address, and service information (including special instructions, and preferences) with the service provider and, for service deliveries, with the delivery person. We may also share ratings and feedback, or other information to the extent required by law, with the service provider and, for service deliveries, the delivery person.
- For service providers, we may share data with the customers and service recipients, including name and photo; service details; location (before and during service); average rating provided by users; total number of services; period of time since they signed up to be a service provider; contact information; and service provider profile, including compliments and other feedback submitted by past users. For service providers who self-identify with certain accessibility settings, we will share that information with the customers and service recipients.
We also provide service recipients with receipts containing information such as a breakdown of amounts charged, the service provider’s first name, photo, and route map. We also include other information on those receipts if required by law.
With an account owner when used by another person, such as when a customer uses their employer’s Doer for Business profile, a customer uses an account linked to their Family profile, a service provider uses an account owned by or associated with a Doer partner company, or a delivery person acts as a substitute.
In addition, if a user creates an account using an email address affiliated with a Doer for Business account owner (i.e., their employer), we may use, and share their profile data (such as name and email address) with such account owner, to help that user expense services to that Doer for Business account.
For those who participate in Doer’s referral program, we share certain data of referred users, such as service count, with the user who referred them as necessary to determine the referral bonus.
2. At Users’ Request or with Users’ Consent
This includes sharing data with:
- Doer business partners. For example, if a user requests a service through a partnership or promotional offering made by a third party, Doer may share certain data
with those third parties. This may include, for example, other services, platforms, apps, or websites that integrate with our APIs; those with an API or service with which we integrate; or other Doer business partners and their users in connection with promotions, contests, or specialized services.
- Emergency services. We may share users’ data with emergency services personnel if we deem it necessary in an emergency situation or in the interest of public safety.
3. With the General Public
For questions or comments from users submitted through public forums such as Doer blogs and Doer social media pages, we may share such data with the general public. Users’ questions or comments submitted through public forums may be visible to the public, including any personal data provided in the question or comment.
4. With Doer Subsidiaries and Affiliates
We share data with our subsidiaries and affiliates to help us provide our services or conduct data processing on our behalf. For example, Doer processes and stores data in the United States and other countries, using equipment and service providers operated by our subsidiaries and affiliates.
5. For Legal Reasons or in the Event of a Dispute
Doer may share users’ data if we believe it is required by applicable law, regulation, operating agreement, legal process, or governmental request, or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to safety or similar concerns. This includes sharing data with law enforcement officials, public health officials, other government authorities, or other third parties as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, user agreements, or other policies; to protect Doer’s rights or property or the rights, property, or safety of others; or in the event of a claim or dispute relating to the use of our services. This also includes sharing data with others in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation, or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company.
